OUTLINE TO COMMENT climographs

 A climograph is a graphical representation of basic climatic parameters, that is monthly average temperature and precipitation, at a certain location. It is used for a quick-view of the climate of a location.

1. Introduction to comment sentence.

2. Regarding precipitation:

• How it rains (annual total, is it wet or dry climate?)

• When it rains (number of dry months, higher rainfall seasons, rainiest month, driest month ...)

• Why does it rain? Frontal rains (passing Lows), convective (thunderstorms, cold drop ...) or orographic (mountain areas).

3. Regarding the temperatures:

• Annual average temperature (cold climate, warm, hot ...)

• Warmest month

• Coldest month

• Annual temperature gradient or range (Is it low / high? And why?)

• How are the summers (hot,> 25 °; warm, 20-25 °)

• How are the winters (fresh,> 10 °; cold, <10 °) and how much they last (they will be long, if over five months or more do not reach 10 º)

4. Climate type, characteristics, areas in which it occurs. Why do you think it is that and not another?

5. What plant vegetation and landscapes are associated with this kind of climate? (Forests, shrub or herbaceous steppes, altitudinal zones of vegetation in mountains, etc.).

1. Frase de introducción al comentario.
2. En cuanto a las precipitaciones:

·         Cuánto llueve (total anual; ¿es un clima húmedo o seco?)

·         Cuándo llueve (número de meses secos, estaciones con más precipitaciones, mes más lluvioso, mes más seco…)

·         Por qué llueve: son lluvias frontales (paso de borrascas), convectivas (tormentas, gota fría…) u orográficas (en zonas de montaña).

3. En cuanto a las temperaturas:
• Temperatura media anual (clima frío, templado, caluroso…)
• Mes más cálido
• Mes más frío
• Amplitud térmica (¿Es baja/alta? ¿Por qué?)
• Cómo son los veranos (calurosos, >25º; cálidos, 20-25º)
• Cómo son los inviernos (frescos, >10º; fríos, <10º) y cuánto duran (son largos si más de cinco meses no llegan a 10º)
4. Tipo de clima, características del mismo, zonas en que se da. ¿Por qué crees que es ése y no otro?
5. ¿Qué vegetación o paisajes vegetales se asocian a este tipo de clima? (Bosques, formaciones arbustivas o herbáceas, estepas, cliseries en zonas de montaña…)
6. Frase de conclusión (se puede insistir en el tipo de clima que es).
